The basics of Bullock are all above. It’s simple; close to 30 years of film success and earnings. That’s what we know about Bullock, here’s what you may not know…
Dual Citizenship
These days you can find Sandra Bullock in the same neighborhood as the Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Though Bullock calls California her home she’s also a German citizen. She was raised in Nuremberg, Germany for twelve years and grew up speaking German. She would often attended opera with her mother (a German opera singer), which is reported to have contributed to her move toward acting.
East Carolina University
Despite spending much of her youth in Germany, Bullock studied theater at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina. After school she relocated to New York City to pursue a stage career followed by television and movie roles. Her film debut was in 1987 in ‘Hangmen’ as Lisa Edwards.
Demi Moore Replaced
One of the most pivotal events in Bullock’s career was a role that she wasn’t even the first choice. Bullock replaced Demi Moore in the 1995 film While You Were Sleeping. The romantic-comedy cemented Bullock’s role as a sweet, honest protagonist – a role she would duplicate several times.
Famous Tango Teacher
Robert Duvall taught Sandra how to ballroom dance. Duvall is a very skilled ballroom dancer and also an avid Argentine tango dancer. Bullock is actually a pretty skilled tango and flamenco dancer. We’ve yet to see her really drop her skills in one of her movies, but there’s no doubt that Sandra can cut a rug.
Philanthropy
Something most may know about Sandra, but deserves a call out just in case it isn’t know would be her active philanthropy. Bullock is an active supporter of the American Red Cross and has donated over $1 million to the organization FOUR TIMES. She’s donated that much money to the Liberty Disaster Relief Fund, the 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunamis, 2010 Haiti Earthquake and the 2011 Japan Earthquake. In 2012, she was elected to the Warren Easton Hall of Fame for charitable donations. She is easily one of the most active and generous philanthropists in Hollywood. Something that should be known by all!
