The fresh and upbeat track showcases her solo singing abilities with her pure and remarkable tone and it is a total tune from the storming newcomer.

The track has come just in time for summer and is sure to stick around the charts and in your head.

The South-London vocalist has already worked with industry heavyweights including Giggs, Conducta, Wiley and the emerging Isaiah Dreads, proving that she deserves a spot amongst A1 artists.

Lily perfected her vocals on Crazy Cousinz’s 2017 smash hit, No Way, featuring Yxng Bane and Mr Eazi.

We caught up with Lily to chat about her latest track, performing at Glasto ’19, and her top three artists she hopes to collaborate with!

Hey Lily! Tell us all about your latest single, Emotions.

Emotions is about finding someone out of the blue, unexpectedly. I wrote Emotions late last year in LA. I always feel so light and free when I’m writing there and I think that’s what gave Emotions such a happy, summertime feel.

For those who unfortunately may not know about you yet, how would you describe your music?

My music is a mixture of all my influences, from 90’s RnB, house, afro-beats to grime and all things in between. I put my feelings into my songs, as humans we have so many different layers, so I’m definitely a mixed bag.

If you had to choose 3 artists to work with right now, who would it be & why?

SBTRKT – I love his production it’s so different to anything else and the sounds he chooses are so organic.
CASisDEAD – he’s one of my favourite lyricists in the UK.
Rosalia – I’m a fan of her music and really like what she’s doing as an artist. I love her flamenco melodies; I reckon working with her would be really inspiring.

So, we saw you performed with Stanton Warriors on the Greenpeace stage at Glastonbury this year. What was that like?

It was amazing! Glastonbury is my favourite festival and I’ve always wanted to perform there. The crowds were great and Stanton Warriors have such good energy. It’s always so much fun joining them on stage.

Where do you ultimately want to perform one day?

There are so many amazing venues, but Brixton Academy is definitely somewhere I’d love to perform. Growing up in South London, it’s always been local to me. I’ve seen some amazing bands there and it’s such a beautiful space.

So, when did you first get into music?

I’ve always loved music and wrote songs on the piano when I was little. I started singing in a grime crew when I was 14 and that’s when I found a real passion for it.

Did you always want to be an artist, or did you have other aspirations?

I always wanted to be a singer, but I also enjoyed writing. Before anything – even as a child – I would write poetry and songs. So, being a songwriter was always something I wanted to do too.

Is there something or somebody you go to for inspiration?

I like to write from experience so I usually write about whatever I’m going through at the time. Sometimes I’ll write about something a friend is going through.

Well, 2020 is here in under six months! What would you like to achieve by then?

I want to have fun and believe in the process more. We get tangled up in the intricate details of putting music out that sometimes we can forget to enjoy it! I’m blessed to do what I love and I want to continue making music and sharing it with the world. The next six months I’ll be releasing more music and performing a lot more too.
