More like “Pirates of the Cavity-an.”
Nearly three decades before being trolled for his “rotting” teeth, Johnny Depp shared how proud he was of his decaying chompers.
“I’ve got loads of cavities,” he boasted in a 1995 interview with Premiere magazine. “I had a root canal done eight years ago that’s unfinished. It’s like a rotten little stub.”
The actor, then 31, claimed he “liked” his flawed smile.
“It’s like when the Indians would make something beaded, they would always put imperfections on it,” he said, adding, “I’m proud of these.”
Depp also bashed those who have pearly whites and said how much he would despise having fabulous fangs.
“When I see people with perfect teeth, it drives me up the wall,” he said. “I’d rather swallow a tick than have that!”
The magazine did claim, however, that the “Nightmare on Elm Street” star’s breath remained odorless despite his affinity for chain-smoking cigarettes and sipping merlot.
The interview resurfaced after Depp’s teeth were torn apart by online trolls when he flashed his browning grin while attending the 2023 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday.
“Johnny Depp’s teeth are literally ROTTING,” one person tweeted on Wednesday along with a close-up look at the star’s mouth.
“This should be considered bacterial biological warfare,” a second jabbed.
“Petition to start a petition to get Johnny some new teeth?!” the official Twitter for InstaSmile tweeted.
“That’s absolutely disgusting. 🤢,” another hater wrote.
While Depp’s teeth took over the Twittersphere, Hollywood raved about his performance in his new movie “Jeanne du Barry,” which premiered at the ritzy film festival.
Page Six reported that Depp, now 59, received a seven-minute standing ovation for his role in the French biographical drama.

Others, however, weren’t so keen on the “Edward Scissorhands” star’s involvement in the festival following his controversial defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard.
Depp won the highly publicized case against Heard, 37, in June 2022 after she accused him of abuse.
While the televised trial divided Hollywood, the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star said he does not feel like he has been blacklisted.
“Do I feel boycotted now? No, not at all,” he told reporters Tuesday. “But I don’t feel boycotted because I don’t think about Hollywood. I don’t feel much further need for Hollywood.”
Meanwhile, Heard has reportedly “quit” acting and moved to Spain.
