Circumstances change constantly; they are very volatile, especially in the entertainment and music industry. The ups and downs are part of life, and one must have the ability to move on to make a bad situation turn good. Similarly, after contracting COVID and being eliminated from The Voice, Kique Gomez is a little sad and explains this bittersweet moment in a video he uploaded on his Instagram account.
As his last performance on The Voice’s 22nd season, Kique sang “Call Out My Name” by The Weeknd. Like the previous songs he sang on the show, this one was his rendition and was well-received by the audience and the judges. It was a pre-recorded video of his performance because he contracted COVID and couldn’t be allowed to sing on stage. The channel hosting the competition arranged for Kique to perform while being quarantined for his and everyone else’s safety.
Even though the judges and the audience liked his performances, it didn’t do much to keep him in the show. He was eliminated, and his mentor, Gwen Stefani, was very emotional about it. She always saw him as a diamond in the rough and thought he would definitely win the show. On his way home to Miami, Kique made a video to tell his followers on his social media platform. He said, “I’m going home. Unfortunately, that’s how the show works, and everybody must go home at some point. But, at the end of the day, I’m happy.“
His fans are glad that he is happy with this decision and are looking forward to his plans for the future. He mentions that he will very actively be looking for opportunities all over the industry and staying in touch with everyone while making connections. In the same video, he says he wants to release his rendition of the song “Hey Ya” by Outkast and will look into how he can do it legally.
It is safe to say that even if he is out of the running and won’t be able to win the show, Kique has made a home in the hearts of his fans and will be showing up soon with his enigmatic and energetic music.
