The iconic filmmaker, Quentin Tarantino, recently revealed that he had chosen Maya Hawke, Uma Thurman’s daughter, to take part in the cast of “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood.”

As suggested by Entertainment Tonight, Tarantino did not look far to pick an actress for the role since Thurman has been noted as the leading lady in many of Tarantino’s films.

Hawke is the daughter of Thurman – “Kill Bill” and “Pulp Fiction” star – and Ethan Hawke.

The young actress has been busy making a name for herself as she also appeared in 2017’s version of “Little Women” as Jo March. Latest reports also revealed that she would be joining the cast of Netflix’s “Stranger Things” for its third season.

Aside from Hawke, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” will also feature other stars like Lena Dunham, Austin Butler, and Lorenza Izzo.

According to the movie’s official synopsis, it will show Los Angeles in 1969 “where onetime TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way in an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.”

The news of Hawke taking part in the new Tarantino film follows the reports revealing the filmmaker and Thurman’s rough past with their professional relationship.

Thurman had revealed in an article for the New York Times earlier this year alleging Harvey Weinstein – Tarantino’s longtime producer – of sexually abusing her many years ago. Weinstein went on to deny the said accusations.

The actress also opened up about the time when Tarantino risked her life while filming “Kill Bill” after he ordered her to do a risky car scene chase.

Thurman claimed she asked for a stunt double several times, but Tarantino won’t budge.

The scene had to show Thurman’s car crashing into a palm tree. While filming, Thurman suffered injuries, which she said still affects her until today.

Tarantino broke the silence and spoke up about the incident, sharing that he still regrets making that decision.
