Pastor Laura Ann Debrough entered into heavenly rest on Sunday, November 15, 2020 in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She was born on October 21, 1946 to the late Thomas Parker and Okie Pope. She graduated from I. C. Norcom High School, Portsmouth, received her nursing degree from Tidewater Community College and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Theology from International Christian University Holy Light College of Bible. She was the Pastor at St. Paul Pentecostal Holiness Church, Portsmouth and founder of The Gospel Persuaders. She was a nurse at Sentara Norfolk General, Maryview Medical Center, and Portsmouth General Hospital. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, attending gospel programs, knitting, sewing, singing, traveling and taking care of others until her health began to fail. She also enjoyed watching old and western movies, games and cooking shows. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas Parker and Okie Johniken; husband William T. Debrough, Jr.; brothers Roosevelt and Bernard Parker; sisters Gladys Riddick and Cheryl Parker. She is survived by her children, Joseph Waddler, Jr. (Denise), Denise Bullock (David), Lorraine Washington (Tyrone) , Darrell Waddler (Annette), Doretha Coggins (Keith), Marlena Debrough, William Debrough, III (Carla), Melody Debrough, Mike Smith (Tara), and Godson Donte Moore, Sr.; brothers James, Ruben, Charles, and Edward Parker, Anthony Pope, Christopher Johniken (Tammy) and sister Edna Brown (Michael); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, best friend Jean Burgess, and church family and friends.
