On Saturday, Aug. 8, Deadliest Catch star Tony Lara died in his sleep at age 50. The reality star was a captain on the crabbing boat Cornelia Marie from the hit Discovery Channel show.
Prior to his time on the show, Lara had worked on the Cornelia Marie for 10 years in the ‘90s. According to his Deadliest Catch bio page, “He just wants to catch some crab and bring them home.”
“Yesterday we lost a member of the Catch Family. May you RIP Captain Tony Lara!” the series’ official Twitter handle wrote on Aug. 9.

According to the Associated Press, Lara was found dead in his Sturgis, South Dakota, home on Saturday morning.
No cause of death has been revealed. Officials are awaiting the autopsy results before making any announcements.
